Three Augsburg tours, three Cologne tours Equalizer

The game started very poorly for the Haie. After just 24 seconds, the Panthers took the lead through Anthony Louis. Shortly afterwards, the KEC had its first power play, but was unable to use it. Instead, Dominik Bokk scored the well-deserved equalizer for largely dominant Haie in the 9th minute.

The second half of the game also began with an early Augsburg goal by Tim Wohlgemuth (22nd). The Haie again missed a majority phase, but still made it 2-2 in the 30th minute through Gregor MacLeod. After two thirds, the Haie had twice as many shots on goal as their opponents, but due to the KEC’s weaker efficiency, the score was 2-2 after 40 minutes.

And the final third also began, of course, with Augsburg taking the lead. Riley Damiani scored from close range to make it 3-2 for the Panthers (48th) after strong preparatory work from Donald Busdeker. Shortly before the end, Cologne had the advantage again and also took the goalkeeper off the ice. With two more players on the ice, Bokk actually made it 3-3 1:21 minutes before the end, which took the game into overtime.

In extra time, Cologne’s Valtteri Kemiläinen received a minor penalty for sticking. The Haie survived being outnumbered without conceding a goal and so it went to a penalty shootout. There Patrick Russell scored the decisive goal for the Panthers. Alexander Blank was successful for the Sharks.

Iserlohn loses in Frankfurt

The Iserlohn Roosters had to admit defeat in the basement duel at the Löwen Frankfurt with 0:3 (0:2, 0:0, 0:1) and only avoided falling to last place thanks to the simultaneous defeat of the Dresden Eislöwen.

In a game that was evenly balanced in terms of shares and shots, Frankfurt took the lead on the first power play through Christopher Wilkie (5th). Five minutes later the goalscorer scored his second goal of the evening (11th). In a game without highlights, the second third remained completely goalless. Even in the final third there was no further momentum in the game. Cameron Brace scored to make it 3-0 for the Lions (51st).
