Slowly but surely the tension in the hall is rising! The teams are already on the ice and getting ready. Mathias Niederberger starts in the Munich goal, Hunter Miska guards the Tigers goal.

The Tigers have recently performed extremely poorly on foreign ice. In the defeats in Cologne, Bremerhaven and Ingolstadt, the Lower Bavarians not only remained without points, but also without a goal of their own. Straubing last scored a goal away from home two and a half weeks ago in a 4-1 win in Augsburg.

After a bumpy start to the season, the Munich team have recently gotten better and better and have won six of their last nine games. The EHC has shone recently, especially in front of its home crowd, and has left the ice as winners five times in a row. Most recently, the day before Christmas Eve there was a 3-2 win against Iserlohn, which Jonathon Blum sealed with his goal in the penultimate minute.

The Christmas derby is also a real top game, as Munich, fourth in the table, hosts third-placed Straubing. The Tigers are currently two points ahead of the reigning champions, who could secure themselves a jump to third place with a home win today. The Bulls also want to take revenge for the two defeats at the Pulverturm (2:4 and 1:2) that they have already suffered during this season.
