Wady P. (38) from the Dominican Republic attacked his friend and compatriot (36) with a knife. Reason: He had pinched his wife.

In the trial for attempted murder, he told the whole jealousy story in front of the district court.

He and Jose O. (36) had met two years earlier. “He didn’t have an apartment. I left mine to him.” At the time he was living with his Elisabeth, the mother of his little son. Of course he still took care of his friend. Even invited him to the family party at Christmas.

Months later, Jose O. found a job and, with the help of Elisabeth, even his own apartment. How familiar was he with her then? The accused: “I don’t know. He denied everything. And Eli avoided my questions.” They argued more and more often. “I moved back to my apartment. Felt betrayed and betrayed.” He numbed his lovesickness with alcohol and cocaine.

When Elisabeth wanted to give him his son to play with at a friend’s in Charlottenburg on July 14, 2022, he saw her coming out the window with her rival. Grabbed a knife: “I thought I could confront him better that way.” With that he ran towards the trio. “I remember a stabbing motion. Reflexive… An impulse. Like a discharge.”

Jose O. tried to run away. The accused caught up with him and stabbed him several times in the back, thorax and arms. The bartender: “I didn’t know Wady aggressively. He wasn’t himself in a way.” Two surgeries and three weeks in the hospital followed for him. The consequences to date? “I can no longer run fast and work a lot. I get breathless quickly.”

The relationship with Elisabeth was also broken after the fact. Otherwise he would never have been able to distance himself from what was happening. Continued: Thursday (February 9)
