Three royal families in Sweden receive a salary from the state, it is revealed in a recent program.

Crown Princess Victoria will one day become Queen. PDO

Traditionally, a program is made about the past year of the Swedish royal family, where you get a peek not only at the representative events of the court but also a little behind the scenes, into a more personal life.

The program is shown on Tuesday in Finland.

This year’s review includes, among other things, a return to the divorce and cheating rumors that swirled around Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel last winter.

Exceptionally, the wings were cut off from the rumors in a public Instagram post.

The annual review tells about the court’s information manager Margareta Thorgren’s with the reasons why it was decided to make the public announcement.

Pickings

Viewers of the annual review are also offered information about the duties of the royal family. The superintendent responsible for the court’s finances tells about them Jan Lindman.

– Three families receive (per year) a fixed amount: the royal couple, the crown princess couple and Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia, Lindman says.

When asked how much they get, the Superintendent replies:

– The royal couple receives 8 million kroner a year. The crown princess couple gets 4.5 million and Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia 1.1 million.

The figures are in Russian kroner.

Independent of sponsors

Princess Madeleine, who lives in the United States with her family, does not actively participate in royal duties.

– As long as he performs tasks at the king’s request, he will receive compensation for his expenses, Lindman says.

The program’s interviewer asks what the royal family needs money for, after all, they have a lot of property.

– The head of state must be independent and free from social ties. That is why it is important that he and his family receive funding from the state and are completely independent of other funding sources. One could not imagine that a company would sponsor them, the superintendent answers.

The king also takes a stand on the war in Ukraine and Victoria and Daniel visit a class of Ukrainian refugee children.

Prince too Carl Philip’s his wife, Princess Sofia, plays a big role in the annual review at various representative events.

Glimpses of the Crown Princess’s birthday from Solliden are also seen.

Of course, the youngest members of the royal family can also be seen in the annual review. Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, among other things, are working on a digger and Princess Madeleine opens her son Nicolas with an adventure park.

The President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö and Mrs. Jenni Haukio will also appear in the program.
