I Love Holland copy flops

According to viewing figures professor Tina Nijkamp, Wendy van Dijk does not wake up really happy. The second season of her Ik Hou Van Holland copy got off to a bad start last night.

The second season of Wie Kent Nederland, a kind of cheap version of Ik Hou Van Holland with Wendy van Dijk at the helm, got off to a very poor start on SBS 6 last night. Only 390 thousand people (9 percent market share) watched the season premiere. , not enough for a spot in the top 15 ratings.

Chantal humiliates Wendy

It was a difficult TV evening for the major channels anyway, because most people opted for FOX or ESPN in prime time. There was the battle to see the Johan Cruijff scale. The match between Ajax and PSV attracted 732 thousand viewers (18 percent) and 637 thousand viewers (15 percent) respectively. So a total of almost 1.4 million viewers.

The most viewed alternative was NPO 1 with The Connection (638 thousand and 15 percent) and a repeat of Youp van ‘t Hek (739 thousand and 20 percent). Chantal Janzen also attracted more attention than Wendy with Oh Wat Een Jaar and that is painful, because this is a repeat. 432 thousand people (10 percent) watched it.

‘Not happy awake’

Viewership professor Tina Nijkamp sympathizes with Wendy. “Wendy van Dijk won’t wake up too happy when she sees the ratings. The second season of Wie Kent Nederland (a cross between Ik Hou Van Holland, Echt Waar, Vijf tegen Vijf and Wat Schat Je?) is having a bad debut”, she writes.

Does Wendy score well in the important commercial target group? No. “In the target group 20 to 54 years it was even the worst-scoring program of the evening on SBS 6: 7.8 percent, while the repeat of Lachen Om Homevideo’s is the best-scoring program, after Hart en Show, with 10.3 percent. .”

‘Very clumsy’

The first season of Wie Kent Nederland attracted an average of about 550 thousand viewers. Tina finds it inconvenient that SBS 6 has just now started the second season. “Very inconvenient to program the start of a new season of a program opposite Ajax – PSV. Almost impossible to get super ratings.”

It is not surprising that SBS 6 started Wie Kent Nederland in the middle of the summer. One of the team captains is Rob Kemps and he will make his debut at the beginning of September as the presenter of Ik Hou Van Holland. To see Rob on the TV twice a week in a program that celebrates our country is of course too much of a good thing.

Viewing figures

Other programs that did not make the top 15 include Beck (413 thousand), Shownieuws (412 thousand), Holland – Belgium (391 thousand), Lachen om home videos (360 thousand) and Nieuwsuur (310 thousand).
