Where and with whom do you live?

‘I live in Amersfoort with my mother Fuchsia (31), my father Ridge (31), my brother Nathanaël (7) and sister Rosalina (3). We don’t have pets, but I would like a dog or a rabbit.’

What do you like most about school?

‘Most of the time I’m having a good time, but sometimes I get bullied. Then I feel less comfortable in my own skin. I do like that I can play with my friends at school and that I learn a lot. My favorite subject is English, because my parents speak a lot of English with me and I already know it well.’

What do you like most about yourself?

‘I think I can stand up for myself and others. Even when things are not going well for me, I will continue to do so. If someone else is in trouble, I’m happy to help them and make sure they’re okay. I always stay strong, I’m proud of that.’

What don’t you like about yourself?

“I sometimes find it difficult to deal with my feelings. I can sometimes get very angry or sad about small things. My emotions go back and forth every time, which is quite difficult. Fortunately, I can often talk about this with my master and girlfriends, then they help me. That always works.’

What would you like to do again?

“It’s hard for me because there’s a lot I’d like to do in life. If I had to choose now, I would go to a beautiful place with my family and friends, maybe to another country. For example to Suriname, my mother’s native country, or my father’s native country, the Dominican Republic. I’ve heard it’s very nice there.’

What is most important to you?

‘What I carry with me most of all are my family and friends. They always support me. I look up to them and they look up to me. I see them often, then we do all kinds of fun things. I really think they are the most important thing in my life.’

Who make you laugh?

“My best friends, Delara and Joanna. They always try to make me laugh when I’m sad. Their goal is to make me happy, that’s why they are my very best friends.’

What will your life look like in ten years?

‘My dream is to become a famous dancer or singer. I just think it would be really fun to be an artist and perform. Maybe I’ll still be living in the Netherlands, but maybe somewhere else.’
