The Hamburger SV was extremely difficult against promoted Prussia Münster. But a late gate from the point still catapulted the HSV to the top of the table.
Hamburger SV narrowly avoided a setback in the promotion battle of the 2nd Bundesliga. With promoted Prussia Münster, the Hamburgers came to a narrow 2-1 success on Friday evening after a very late penalty goal, at least temporarily taking over the lead.
Lukas Frenkert put the Münsteran the lead in the 24th minute. In the 38th minute, the hosts even met again, but goal scorer Etienne Amenyido was clearly offside. When it looked like Münster was going into the break with a lead, it was Davie Selke, who still equalized in the third minute of stoppage time.
In the second half, the HSV remained the more active team and in the 58th minute Selke lurked to take the lead after a penalty whistle. But the VAR intervened and referee Wolfgang Haslberger took his decision back after the pictures were viewed again. In the fourth minute of stoppage time, however, the same game. Again, Haslberger pointed to the point that this time his decision remained and Selke sank the penalty to the winning goal.
Due to the victory, the HSV jumps to the top of the table with 38 points. Cologne can pass again on Sunday with a victory against Schalke. With 20 points, Münster continues in 15th place, three points in front of Ulm on relegation rank 16.
In the parallel game, Greuther Fürth defeated Jahn Regensburg 2-1 at home.
At HSV, Selke only participated two weeks after his break in the chef – with a mask. On the other hand, only on the bench did Jean-Luc Dompé, who, according to coach Merlin Polzin, were “not on time”. For him, 17-year-old Otto Stange gave his starting debut.
Selke also had the first chance to score, but his header narrowly missed the goal (19th). The first goal fell on the other: After a corner kick by Mikkel Kirkeskov, Frenkert headed to the HSV goal, Miro Muheim fought the ball. Practically with the half -time whistle, Selke equalized with a head.
After the break, Dompé was also allowed to go to the field. After a duel between Jano Ter Horst and Adam Karabec, referee Wolfgang Haslberger initially decided on a penalty for the HSV, but in the view of the video images (59.). On the other hand, David Kinsombi awarded the great chance of the new Prussian leadership (65th). Münster was lucky when Torge Paetow steered the ball to the post of his own goal (88th) before the penalty decision in injury time she still cost the point win.
The blatant away weakness of the bottom of the table SSV Jahn Regensburg has meanwhile also stopped at the Bavarian duel at SpVgg Greuther Fürth. The Upper Palatinate lost on match day 21 despite a 1-0 lead with 1: 2 (1: 2) in the Ronhof. An away point of ten games is simply not enough to be able to survive in the relegation battle.
After a counterattack on the left side, attacker Sargis Adamyan was successful for the Jahn in the 6th minute. However, led by the strong driver Branimir Hrgota, the Fürther turned the game in front of 12,586 spectators through the goals of Jomaine Consbruch (31st) and Dennis Srbeny (37th). Bad luck for the Jahn: The throw -in for Fürth in front of the gate to 2-1 should not have existed. Jahn coach Andreas Patz Sags the red card because of complaining in added time.
