HSV shoots Hertha BSC even deeper into the crisis

Hamburger SV inflicted the next defeat on Hertha BSC in the 2nd Bundesliga, causing a real crisis for relegated teams.

The North Germans won on Saturday evening 3-0 (2-0), for Hertha it was the third defeat on the third matchday – while HSV initially takes the lead in the table, the supposed promotion candidate is without a point and without a goal at the bottom.

Bakery Jatta (38′), Laszlo Benes (45′ + 4′, hand penalty) and Robert Glatzel (82′) scored for Hamburg, although the hosts had been unlucky twice before with VAR decisions. Hamburg is now at the top with seven points, but on Sunday (1.30 p.m. / Sky) Holstein Kiel can overtake 1. FC Magdeburg with their third win in the third game.

Hertha coach Pal Dardai had to moderate the looming crisis before the match, “we need points now,” he warned – but his team only kept up at the beginning.

HSV with more chances against Hertha BSC

Hamburg soon developed great pressure, a goal by Glatzel was not given due to an offside position (18th), a little later the referee team took back a penalty kick for Hamburg after a minute’s examination (24th) – Benes had been on the ball with his hand in the process .

However, HSV remained determined, after a counterattack Jatta then scored for the deserved lead. Shortly before the break, Hertha’s Marton Dardai grabbed the ball and Benes converted the penalty.

Hamburg then had further chances, especially in the final phase, one of which Glatzel used after a counterattack.
