The new film of Pedro Almodovar It will be released on the big screen. “Strange way of life”made by Pedro Pascal and Ethan Hawke, will occupy a position of honor in the official programming of the Cannes International Film Festival. The film is the second experience in English for the Spanish director after “The Human Voice” (2020).
Accompanied by the music of Alberto Iglesias and the photograph of Jose Luis Alcaine, the tape tells the story of two gunmen who love each other. Some time ago, Almodóvar himself anticipated that the story is a queer western for the simple reason that it tells the story of two men who meet again after 25 years.
The filmmaker revealed in a statement that the film’s title refers to “the famous fado of Amalia Rodrigues, whose lyrics suggest that there is no more strange existence than the one that lives turning its back on one’s own desires”. The cast is completed Pedro Casablanc, Manu Ríos, George Steane, José Condessa, Jason Fernández, Sara Sálamo, Ohiana Cueto and Daniela Medina.
Like many classic westerns of the 1970s, the filming took place in Almeria, to the south of Spain. El Deseo, the production company of the Almodóvar brothers, carried out the production together with the fashion house st laurent. The French firm had an outstanding participation in the costume design, at the hands of the couturier Anthony Vaccarello.
