The title is within reach for Munich. T-online explains what has to happen that Bayern can celebrate the championship at the weekend after the game against Mainz.

There are still four game days to be completed in the Bundesliga, but the question of the new German champion is almost answered. FC Bayern is currently eight points ahead of pursuer Bayer Leverkusen and can make the title on the 31st matchday with a victory in the home game against FSV Mainz (3:30 p.m. in the T-Online Liveticker). However, this requires shooting aid.

T-Online explains in which constellation Bavaria has the title early and under what conditions he should only be taken to the record champion.

As mentioned, the Vincent Kompany team cannot yet make it clear this weekend. However, if the Munich team won their game and pursuer Bayer Leverkusen did not score three times against FC Augsburg at the same time, Bayern would no longer have to be taken. The “Werkelf” absolutely needs a victory in order to at least get the theoretical chance of defending the title.

If Bavaria does not win against Mainz, there is still no definitive decision on the 31st matchday. But: If the Bavarians play a draw and lose Leverkusen, the lead is nine points and the FCB would have a better goal difference than Leverkusen – for three outstanding games. That would be practically no longer possible for the Alonso-Elf.

So a special incentive for Augsburg to help the Bavarian neighbor to the premature championship? After a win you like to take “a beer on the bus and then we like to take one of Bavaria,” joked FCA coach Jess Thorup, but also made it clear: “For me it is about winning three points for FC Augsburg.”

For FC Bayern it would be the 34th championship in its club history. For Thomas Müller, who has to leave the Munich after 25 years, the 13th and for top scorer Harry Kane it would mean the first trophy at all.

It would also be the title premiere for coach Vincent Kompany. At first, however, the Belgian only has the game against Mainz in mind, as he admitted: “The whole other scenarios are not yet in my head.”

With the planning of possible celebrations after the final whistle, sports director Max Eberl also wanted nothing to do in advance: “I am sure that something is being prepared in the background. But honestly: I am not interested.” If the title is fixed, “then the machinery will start,” said Eberl.
