How after a preventive malaria treatment in 2015 it never really got better with Stromae: “More than 10% develop a psychiatric disorder” | Showbiz

There is a real chance that Rock Werchter will have to look for a new headliner for the opening day. Just as Stromae (38) currently makes his planned concerts fall like ministerial stones – in the meantime 21 dates have already been canceled – Thursday 29 June also seems gradually unfeasible. The singing maestro is again struggling with health problems, almost certainly of a mental nature. Since he collapsed in 2015 due to a preventive malaria treatment, he has never really been the same again. The drug Lariam, which is also available in Belgium, has been the subject of discussion for years: in 10 percent of users it leads to bizarre dreams, anxiety attacks and even suicidal thoughts and depression.
