House in Coevorden locked after finding hemp nursery

Mayor Renze Bergsma has decided to close a terraced house on Van Giffenstraat in Coevorden. A cannabis farm was found in the house.

The house is closed from today and will remain so until September 20. With the closure, the mayor wants to prevent the production and trade in drugs at the home and restore the ‘living and social climate’.

With the closure, the mayor also hopes that the house will no longer be known as a drug house in the drug circuit. At the same time, he wants to send a signal that the municipality will take measures if illegal activities involving drugs take place in a house.

Last month, a house on Sallandsestraat in Coevorden was also closed after the discovery of a cannabis nursery.
