A creative breeding ground for young people: that big dream realized Streetart artist Daan Wille in a shed in Hoofddorp. Now that the anti -squat has to give way to Huizen, he is looking for a new place together with the young people.
Little is left of the colorful sanctuary where the artists transform the expired shed in, if NH takes a look earlier this week. Most has already been cleaned up, because the building must be empty on Sunday.
And that is quite a swallow. “If you have an affinity with art, want to be creative with art or want to discover where you want to go […] Then this was the perfect place where it was all possible. Where not everything was under the microscope, but it did happen in a controlled manner, “Wille explains what Mainville made so special in his eyes.
Indoor Skatepark
Not only artists, but also skaters found their place there. They converted part of the shed into skate skatepark. “It was full of many beautiful obstacles that we were all allowed to build here. That was just fantastic,” says Skater Joep van der Veen proudly. It hurts him that now only a small disaster (obstacle) is standing.

Sixteen -year -old Seb Draijer is also disappointed. With a friend he transformed an office into Barbershop, where he cuts young people by appointment. “That works well with school next to it, because this place is nice and close.”
While municipalities often miss the plank in the field of youth places, Wille seemed to be the right chord with Mainville. Young people who get stuck at school or at home also found their outlet. “This place was really unique,” he sighs.
