Homes evacuated after fire in Den Helder apartment building

Twelve homes were temporarily evacuated following a fire on Marsdiepstraat in Den Helder. The fire broke out in a cellar box. This caused a lot of smoke development.

The first report of the fire was made at 8:05 p.m. Several residents were checked by ambulance personnel, but no one had to be taken to hospital.

After the fire was extinguished, the homes were ventilated. Residents of eight addresses were able to return to their own homes tonight. The four other homes are temporarily uninhabitable. These residents have been accommodated elsewhere.
