The owner of the villa was traveling but there were staff present. The three French-speaking burglars entered the house from the back. They tied up the 35-year-old housekeeper and the 64-year-old caretaker with straps. The thieves made off with the safe and four valuable paintings. They also stole the owner’s car.
The stolen car was later found burned out in Estaimpuis in Hainaut, about 20 kilometers from the crime scene. The investigation is in full swing.
