The fire broke out around 10.45 am in the kitchen of a terraced house in Rozenstraat. A mother and her daughter were at home at the time of the incident. They noticed the fire, which quickly released a large amount of smoke. The plume of smoke was visible in the wide area.
When the emergency services arrived, flames were already shooting out of the rear of the house. According to the fire brigade, the fire was probably caused by a cooking pot that was on the fire.
