Six months after his arrival, Tymoteusz Puchacz is about to say goodbye to Holstein Kiel. As coach Marcel Rapp confirmed, the 25-year-old left-back has been released for talks and will not be in the squad for Saturday’s Bundesliga game against SC Freiburg. According to reports, the Pole is heading to England to face Plymouth Argyle in the Championship.

Puchacz is expected to gain more match practice on loan from the second division club, which recently fired Wayne Rooney as coach. With Kiel this season he has played 479 minutes spread over twelve games. He wasn’t used at all in the last three Bundesliga games. His contract with the Störchen, to whom he moved from Union Berlin in the summer, is valid until 2028.
The penultimate club Holstein Kiel has been active in the transfer market once this winter and signed David Zec from NK Celje. Puchacz would be the first departure. In an interview with “Kicker”, Rapp left it open whether the squad would be further adjusted. “If we find a player who helps us qualitatively and is economically feasible, we will sign someone else. We don’t have a large squad, but we do have a balanced squad that could use reinforcement – regardless of which part of the team.” With a total value of 37.3 million euros, the North Germans are in last place in the German football upper house.
