Holstein Kiel is repositioning itself

Top second division club Holstein Kiel will install a director of licensed football in Jan Uphues on July 1st this year. By creating the position, the current runner-up in the table wants to promote professionalization in terms of structure and personnel. Uphues is currently still working as the organizational manager of the licensing team.

In the future, the 36-year-old will be responsible for the holistic development of the professional department under the Managing Director of Sports.

“With Jan Uphues we have had a very reliable, committed and well-connected colleague in our team for many years, who is highly valued in the club and beyond,” said Managing Director Sport Uwe Stöver, who is leaving the club in the summer: “Jan has has developed into my right-hand man in recent years and has supported me intensively in all matters from squad planning to the structural technical development of the professional department.”
