Golf is hot: More and more Zoetermeerders discover how nice it is to ball On a beautiful green course. Research shows that golf is becoming increasingly popular, especially among 21 to 30-year-olds. Young people often step up the golf course with friends, but certainly with family. Patricia, Sandra, Ferry and Francy tell why they hooked are golf.
Patricia (19) says: “Many people think that Golf is only for older people, but there are also plenty of people my age. My best friend has also been with it.” Patricia discovered Golf through her father and kept coming back for the break. “I am behind my laptop for school all day. Then it is so nice to be outside, just moving. You have no idea how many steps you take during a round of golf.” You quickly take 10,000 steps per round.

Golf is more than a sport
What makes Golf so attractive? For many people it is the combination of being outside, movement and tranquility in your head. Away from the daily hectic. No screens. Only you, the ball and the green.
Ferry (29) has also completely discovered the sport: “Golf helps me focus. I am busy with work and sport a lot, but golf is the only moment when I really don’t think about anything. And of course it is nice if I get further than my father!”

Active, social and relaxed
Sandra (43) has also completely discovered the sport: “I just like it. You are active, but it is not too intense. Nice walking, a bit of chat in between. My husband and I often go together, but I also take friends with me.”
