FOOTBALL – By beating Dwingeloo 5-0, HODO, leader in the third division D, has won the first period title. HODO and Dwingeloo caught up tonight in Hollandscheveld. With two early goals, things quickly looked good for the home team in white and black.
After the goals by Stefan Kikkert and Jorn Smit, Dwingeloo suddenly hit the post. After the break (2-0) Sander Danes made himself heard.
The former goalkeeper of FC Emmen, WKE and HHC Hardenberg, among others, is in his second season with HODO. The 36-year-old Danes is in the front in Hollandscheveld and threw the game against Dwingeloo with three hits, number two was a nice marker, locked in five minutes.
This brings Danes’ subtotal to nine. With 28 points from eleven games, HODO is 24 points ahead of runner-up Oldeholtpade.
