The focus is entirely on celebrating the title, but in the meantime Paalman knows that there are actually obligations to require his attention. “I actually have to learn quickly, because I have an exam Monday,” he explains. “But I’m afraid I’m not going to get it.”

Ibiza

A journey is launched during the boat trip. The team wants to go to Ibiza to celebrate the title, but flights and accommodation still have to be booked. Not handy if an exam awaits. “With Ibiza it becomes totally difficult,” Paalman acknowledges. “That will be the textbook on the plane, I think, but that will not be looked at.”

For Amsterdam, the title is a special one, after 13 years of cingment next to the scale. Yet it is no surprise for Burkhardt. “I think it’s the perfect group,” he says. “The ideal combination with young boys who are very eager and older guests with experience. I think we all just want an extreme to be better than the opponent. That has resulted in the championship.”
