Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan answered the questions of press members before the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Ordinary Election General Assembly held in Ankara.
Asked about how many transfers Trabzonspor Coach Nenad Bjelica wants, Doğan said, “Our coach is working really seriously. Let our fans be at ease. Everything is very serious, we do not transfer it to the outside even though we make agreements because it is often eliminated and touched frequently. In the first place, 6- We foresee 7 transfers. As the transfers start to arrive, as our coach sees the situation of the team at the camp, whatever he returns to us, whatever demands are made from us, the Trabzonspor Board of Directors will do whatever it takes to fulfill these demands.” gave the answer.
President Doğan, regarding the transfer rumors about goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır, said, “Uğurcan Çakır is our captain. A brother you love very much. We do not give Uğurcan to any club in Turkey. We want Uğurcan to go to an important club in Europe. “We would like it for Turkish football and Uğurcan, but there is no such situation at the moment. Upon a press member’s question about how the exchange rate difference would reflect on the transfer, President Doğan used the following statements:
“This situation is the most important problem of Turkish football at the moment. This issue has been seriously brought up at the last Club Association Foundation meeting. When we look at our revenues, when we consider the increase in the exchange rate, it is not a manageable situation. Not only our own club, but also Turkish football. It has become a reality. There are serious problems especially in Anatolian clubs. There are also serious problems in big clubs. An operation needs to be carried out all over Turkey to overcome this. Serious income items need to be revealed. Mehmet (Büyükekşi) Bey has serious plans in this regard. I have to be frank. Clubs in their current form have no chance to manage this. There is no club. We are planning this year. We have to reduce the team budget. Trabzonspor does not have a chance to walk with a budget of 45-46 million euros. Other clubs do not. Everyone has their own way. He will plan and face the facts.”
