Hilversum is going to adjust ‘paint tracks’ on the road for safety

It was meant to be nice, but some adjustments have to be made after complaints: Hilversum is going to tackle the ‘paint tracks’ that should lead cyclists and pedestrians along the work around the station area. The brightly colored lines are now partly over road signs.

The striking brightly colored routes with different colors should make it clearer for cyclists and walkers where they should go if work is going on on the station square. The routes have been made extra striking, because they are also constantly changing.

For many Hilversummers, the brightly colored lines took some getting used to, but there are also a few things wrong. The brightly colored lines are now partly over crosswalks and shark teeth and therefore cause ambiguity.

To the frustration and anger of Hilversummers. Complaints about the ‘haphazardly’ placed ‘paint traces’ are raining on social media.

The municipality has announced that it will rectify these errors after the weekend.
