Hilse and Elixir will cross the country for five months. “The intention is to first visit West Flanders, then along Bruges towards the coast. Then we walk along the coastline towards the shrimp fishermen and so we continue.”

Early this morning Hilse walked with Elixir Al from Damme to Bruges. Today she drives to Loppem and tomorrow she will arrive in Ostend. She is also looking for sleeping places with a stable for Elixir.

Hilse is the granddaughter of the man who founded the Museum of the Belgian draft horse in Vollezele in Flemish Brabant 25 years ago. And that is also the end station on 31 August. She makes a documentary of her journey along the way.
