After 131 years, the Van Herwijnen family business at 66 Dorpsstraat closes for good. Owner Dennie Van Herwijnen and his wife Monica stop their hiking specialty store to realize their dream: a hiking campsite.

From a clock seller to a butcher’s shop, from a lingerie shop to a haberdashery shop and from a dump shop to a hiking specialty shop: many entrepreneurs from the Van Herwijnen family have already run a shop in the old shop building.
Empty sale
The hiking specialist has been for sale since 2020, but a suitable buyer has never been found. Dennie and Monica do want to continue with their future plans, so that’s why they start with an empty sale. With increasing discounts on the total range, it is intended that the store will be empty before the end of the year. After that, the doors close permanently.
