From Wednesday January 21st Library Forum completely dedicated to the little ones. You and your (grand)child can come and listen, discover and play together during the National Reading Days.

The Baby, Toddler & Preschool Market falls exactly during the National Reading Days and starts festively with a special edition of Toddler reading. From performances and face painting to picture books and a reading breakfast: children from 0 to 6 years old will be put in the spotlight this month!

Reading breakfast at Toddler Reading

On Wednesday, January 21, the reading festival month will kick off with something tasty: it National Reading Breakfast. During Toddler Reading, (grand)parents and children listen to a beautiful story together, after which a small breakfast is ready for the children. A wonderful start to the day! The reading breakfast is for everyone, because the story is read in different languages.

Baby, Toddler & Preschool Market

On Sunday, January 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Library Forum will turn into a cheerful mini fair full of inspiration for young families. Face painting, glitter tattoos, stone painting, music lessons, a sound garden and discovery tables: there is so much to do that getting bored is not an option.

There are also stands from Boekwinkel Silvester, Piëzo and Parentus Fysio, among others. Admission is free and registration is not required. Will your child become a member of the library? Then you will receive a cuddly toy as a gift!

Loet and Mango on an adventure

One of the highlights of the day is the theater performance Loet and Mango on an adventure. Actress Ruth Bakker plays the stubborn girl Loet and takes children on a playful, cheerful and interactive adventure.

The performance will be performed twice on Sunday, January 25: at 10:30 am and 11:30 am. This way, anyone who wants to join can join. All children and their (grand)parents are very welcome.

Reading from the picture book Little Monkey

The market falls in the middle of the National Reading Days, from Wednesday January 21 to Sunday February 1. During this national campaign, extra attention is paid to reading aloud to children who cannot yet read themselves. Read the library in Zoetermeer Little monkey by Mies van Hout, the Picture Book of the Year 2026.

In addition to reading aloud, the library also provides fun assignments that tie in with the story. The entire program takes about thirty minutes and is completely tailored to toddlers and preschoolers.
