Sometimes simple steps sound complicated: Radiohead have registered a limited liability company in London with Rheuk25 LLP. This reported on Thursday (March 13) “PitchFork”.
Specifically, the five musicians around singer Thom Yorke founded a company that should make it easier for you to publish new music outside of the usual exploitation standards via a record company.
This may be the most promising sign that Radiohead – long ago without a record contract – could soon publish a new album. It was time, because “A Moon Shaped Pool” was released in 2016. A decade without new music of the British, even if most members were of course also solo and Thom Yorke, together with Jonny Greenwood and Tom Skinner, tinkered as The Smile Höchstiv on new sound worlds.
Radiohead founded LLPs several times
The fact that new songs from Radiohead could soon see the light of day, it is explained by the fact that the band has previously founded so-called LLPs: Dawn Chorus LLP in 2016 (in the last year of their last LP) and also in 2021, shortly before the “Kid a Mnesia” compilation. Such a company was also created for The Smile in 2021 with Self Help Tapes LLP.
All of this also fits Colin Greenwood’s statements that Radiohead met each other several times in the past and finally even Rehearsals. What kind? The bassist didn’t reveal that.
However, “The Bends” celebrates the 30th anniversary this year-and an anniversary edition would not be surprised. Two gifts on one prank would not be bad.
