– One of the big ones is gone. Henry Leppä, who made a significant career in the Jokers in the 1970s, slept on June 2, 2025, exhausted by a long-term illness, reads in the caption.

The Turku-based Leppä started his career in the SM Series in his breeding club in TUTO in 1965-66.

Leppä moved to the Jokers for the 1969-70 season and represented the club for 11 seasons. He is remembered not only as an effective winger, but also as a captain and leader.

Leppä hit 179+168 = 347 in the Joker shirt at 363 matches, which entitles him to third place on the club’s all -time spot exchange.

Leppä won Finnish Championship gold in 1972-73 as the crown of his career and was also selected for the star field of the series. The Jokers have frozen his game number 15 and has been nobility as a hockey lion at number 104.

Former Lepä teammate was also warmly reminiscent of the club legend in the Joker Pentti Hiiros.

– Henkka was a strong and unique person, a reliable teammate and a fighter to Heng and blood, says Hiiros in the Joker publication.
