Helmi Loukasmäki, 25, retired from making music three years ago and focused on helping Danny, 83, who underwent surgery, in everyday life. Now he talks about new winds that have matured with time.

Helmi Loukasmäki25, will change the hit legend Danny’s83, within a week to the Rauman villa for the summer. This is his sixth summer in maritime landscapes.
– We are both already waiting to get to spend the summer, Helmi says on the phone.
During the call, the two sit together in the living room of Rokinnoka’s villa, from which Helmi says she looks out to sea. Last summer, he built his own greenhouse on the plot, and this summer the plan is to continue the hobby.
– I’ve already put something there to grow. Last summer was busy, so I would like to enjoy myself here more, and of course spend a lot of time at Ilmajoki as well, he ruminates.
One expected tradition is Danny’s crab party with friends, and that’s what Helmi is looking forward to. Roughly speaking, they usually spend half the year at the villa.
Cut the break
Work is meant to be done. Laulajanalku tours together in the summer with Danny’s aisa pair. On Midsummer, there is a Lapin gig coming up, and at the same gig, among others, will also perform Frederick. Helmi’s repertoire has expanded, and on May 29 he will release music after a three-year break.
A common heart -the composer is behind the single Petri Kokko and lyricist Riku Rantanen.
Helmi says that she did a couple of solo gigs during the winter, where she realized she wanted to perform more party music and hits that everyone knows, such as Meiju Suvassen I want you or Room 105. The fresh song reminds me of party songs like Portion Boys’ production.
– Of course I want to tour together with Danny, but I have a dream that I could tour with such party gigs. It’s great to see how the audience reacts to those songs, he says.
– I have found more of myself through gigs. We have already recorded a couple of other new songs. There will be no more three-year breaks, Helmi promises.
Helmi admits that more time has been freed up for creative work, when her live-in partner Danny has recovered from his knee surgery a year and a half ago.

More responsibility
Helmi says that she has increased her knowledge about the entertainment industry during the year.
– I have been with Danny for almost a year in the main responsibility for D-production. I handle financial matters and contracts. We manage a lot of company affairs together. It has been interesting, says Helmi.
He also acts as Danny’s gig driver, also in the fall, when the iskelmä legends go on the Herrasmiehet lavalle tour.
– I help Danny with practical matters. As far as I know, they don’t have any public transportation.
Helmi consciously wants to keep many options open regarding her future.
– The dream of studying is still there, but so far I haven’t applied anywhere. I have been able to see alongside Danny what this field is like, and the studies will certainly be relevant, he assures.
