Hélène Hendriks is in shock after her editor’s call to arms. She doesn’t want people to brave the snow to sit with her in the studio. “Just stay at home!”
It was a major setback for Hélène Hendriks’ editorial staff: the ladies and gentlemen working there had to act as cattle in Monday’s Oranjewinter episode themselves. The reason? Because of the winter weather, people preferred not to go on the road. However, the editors did not feel like filling all the chairs and benches again yesterday.
20 euros
So what did Hélène’s editors do? He asked people to brave the snow in exchange for 20 euros. “I understand that for the first time a call has been made to come to the studio,” the presenter responds Instagram. “Of course it should have said: ‘Only if you live very close to the Media Park and you can possibly get there on foot.’”
She continues: “Although, that can also be dangerous. In other words, I would like to make it very clear: just stay at home if you don’t have to go on the road. Just an empty studio. It doesn’t matter at all. And turn on that TV!”
Very empty studio
That empty studio on Monday was fine, Hélène thinks. “Very understandable with this extreme weather, because why would you go on the road if you don’t have to? By the way, we had two people from Emmen. Very sweet of course, but don’t do that! Just stay at home. I always say this: better safe than sorry.”
Ultimately, the studio was quite full on Tuesday. The presenter said about this in the broadcast: “I had made a call: ‘Guys, stay at home, don’t go on the road’, but look! The whole studio is full! All paid for, right?!”
Hélène through the dust:
