RTL Boulevard star Aran Bade issues a strong reprimand to Hélène Hendriks. He thinks it’s lame that she doesn’t just admit that she no longer wants Jack van Gelder on her show. “Say it.”
We have never seen Hélène Hendriks so scared: she has banned Jack van Gelder from her talk show De Oranjewinter, but apparently does not want to be judged for it and is really hiding behind everything. First she shouted that he is on holiday, then it would have been another decision by the editors… As if Hélène herself is not in charge of it.
Jack isn’t there
Hélène is under fire, says presenter Lex Uiting RTL Boulevard. “Now with great successes, there is always a bit of noise involved, right? If things go too well, there is always some kind of issue. Jack van Gelder is of course the big absentee this season at De Oranjewinter. What about that?”
Exactly how this works remains unclear, says reporter Aran Bade. “Well, that is strange, because Jack van Gelder, together with Hélène, created a bit of that Orange summer. That was a bit of the role of Johan Derksen. Yes, he is just not there now.”
Laughing away
According to Aran, it is abundantly clear that Hélène does not reveal the back of her tongue. “What is striking is that Hélène laughs a bit about it. It was a topic of conversation with her because Hugo Borst mentioned his name and that is what I liked about Hélène: she always said what she thinks, which is also appreciated at Today Inside.”
Now Hélène is silent. Colleague Frank Dane: “Do you suspect that there is something behind it now?”
Aran: “Yes, I think so.”
Not fair
According to Aran, Hélène is not honest. “I think they just decided to go less along with Jack, because he does have a strong opinion, and they wanted to try something different. I would just say that if I were Hélène. She didn’t do that.”
He thinks it is nonsense that the presenter is hiding behind her editors. “Hélène really has an opinion about it and if she no longer wants it, that is of course also possible.”
For the time being, she remains silent about it and apparently those around her are not allowed to say anything about it either. Even her regular guest Victor Vlam, who is not averse to a riot, doesn’t say a word about it in his podcast.
Nonchalant
In any case, the Jack exit makes De Oranjewinter less controversial. Rutger Castricum is constantly neighing very loudly and Hélène has such a boring, beige attitude that she doesn’t add anything at all.
Aran: “Hélène’s nonchalant attitude does hinder her a bit as a talk show presenter. Wilfred Genee, for example, is very sharp. Has good, short lines of communication, but can also be very sharp with his own opinion, but Hélène doesn’t have that. That’s why it always feels a bit like: ah, it doesn’t really matter.”
