Hélène Hendriks has worn some kind of Moroccan garb on Ziggo Sport, causing the annoyance of Henk Spaan, columnist at Het Parool. “Do we keep that at all matches?”
The general public knows Hélène Hendriks from her talk shows on SBS 6, but sports fans also see her constantly on Ziggo Sport. She currently covers the matches in the Africa Cup, including Morocco against the Comoros. The presenter had put on a Moroccan robe especially for that occasion.
Traditional dress
The dancing Hélène manages to score a lot of points with her traditional dress. “Haha so nice. She looks beautiful in that tekshita 😍,” says one Fairouz.
Erwin: “Honestly, this suits her. 👏”
One Daniëlle: “So nice to see😍🇲🇦 what a nice woman she is that she does this.”
And Rachid: “It can be done that way. Celebrate the differences, super fun! ❤️🧡”
‘Why blonde?’
Yet there are also viewers who are annoyed. “Why don’t you use a Moroccan woman for such dances?” says one Vikramos, who apparently does not know that Hélène serves the presenter.
A certain Edowardo points out that this is not about a woman who was hired as a dancer. “What are you talking about, do you know who that woman is that you ‘hired’?”
Long Jan: “She is the presenter of that show, potato!”
Henk critical
Henk Spaan, columnist for Het Parool, is annoyed. “Hélène Hendriks wears Moroccan garb. Will we keep that at all matches? Adapted clothing? That will be a laugh when she has to present Volendam. Mirrors on the hat. When Ivory Coast is broadcast later, will Hélène Hendriks bring a drum?”, he writes. BlueSky.
That’s not right, says BBB politician Mona Keijzer X. “Volendam traditional costume has no mirrors on the hat. Not even on the cap. 😒”
Fascist
X-influencer MiesBee finds Henk’s criticism lame. “Even the very sourest people on BlueSky can appreciate Hélène Hendriks in a Moroccan outfit. Not allowed by Henk Spaan, because Hélène Hendriks, fascist. Nice,” she writes. X.
A certain Frank replied: “Henk Spaan, the man who has never been funny.”
And Diana: “That is also a very left-wing sour man!”
