The German Weather Service (DWD) expects maximum values in the north between 20 and 24 degrees on Tuesday, directly on the lake. It can sometimes rain there. In the rest of the country, a maximum of 25 to 31 degrees can be expected. In the southern half, the sun is also more common, it becomes cheerful and stays dry.
According to the DWD, a low is slowly approaching from Southwest Europe on Wednesday night, which brings hot air into the country again. In this way, temperatures above 30 degrees could be achieved again on Wednesday in the southern half – up to 35 degrees are possible on the Upper Rhine. At the same time, the storm risk increases again. “Then at the latest from the night of Thursday, strong thunderstorms first say in the western parts of the country and finally” hello “nationwide on Thursday, said meteorologist Tobias Reinartz from the DWD.
Lightning strike in Dresden, storm in Bavaria
Thunderstorms triggered numerous operations from the police and fire brigade in Bavaria. In the Upper Palatinate, a field near the municipality of Wald burned after a lightning strike, as a police spokesman announced on Sunday evening. In the city of Furth in the forest, gully’s lids were pressed out of the street, the lane blocked in the municipality of Pfakofen.
In Saxony’s state capital Dresden, too, a thunderstorm pulled across the city: a flash let the roof structure of an apartment building open on fire. Nobody was injured.
A forest near Goslar in Lower Saxony has been burning since Sunday evening. The fire brigade said that the burning area had increased from three to seven to eight hectares. Swimming accidents, zoo closed
There were also swimming accidents again at the weekend, for example in Bavaria. In the lake rake at Böbing, an 88 -year -old swimmer drove lifeless in the water on Sunday – according to the police, the man was reanimated by helpers and came to a hospital with a rescue helicopter. In the Altrheinsee in Rhineland-Palatinate, a 37-year-old man drowned on Sunday afternoon.
In Stralsund in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the zoo closed on Monday in view of the prediction of thunderstorms, heavy rain and gusts of wind.
Weather prospects from Thursday
In the night of Thursday there is a compression of cloudy, emerging shower and sometimes strong thunderstorms from the southwest, as the DWD announced. To the east of the Elbe and in the southeast it is expected to remain dry and low. It cools to 21 degrees on the Upper Rhine and values around 12 degrees in the northeast.
Thursday is particularly cloudy. From the west to east, the experts expect storms with storms and local storms with storm potential. The maximum values are between 22 and 26 degrees in the northwest, otherwise at 27 to 31 degrees.
