The career of Martien Meiland as a TV presenter seems to be over: we see him nowadays only screaming on a house hunt. “In the end, that man can only one trick,” it sounds.
Can Martien Meiland more than just scream and be shocked in his real -life soap Chateau Meiland? They tried it at SBS 6. A few years ago he was deployed as a presenter on the programs Cash or Trash, Bingo! The 100,000 euros quiz and first & last. It was all not a success and now we see Martien again alone in his own soap.
Falically
Mediacriticus Victor Vlam sees a failed TV star in this. “What it says is that Martien Meiland has not succeeded in developing into a sort of general TV personality. That has really failed completely. He is now very dependent on one trick that he simply repeats in every new season of the Meilandjes.”
None of the aforementioned shows are more on the tube. “Those are things that we will not see so quickly nowadays. He is still in the panel of the three of the three, but we mainly see him renovating and buying a new house in a new season of the Meilandjes,” he continues in the podcast The Communicado’s.
“That’s his trick”
Martien can really only buy houses and then do it nice and crazy with a camera, says Victor. “That is his trick, that will be worked out at some point and then I also think that we will not see much more of him.”
This trick has a limited shelf life, he continues. “People still like it so far, but if you are dependent on one specific format then there is always the risk that people are bored with that format and then you no longer have any other task on television. So that’s why you try to broaden.”
Tricky perspective
That was clearly also the idea of SBS 6, according to the medianer. “Yes, that was probably also behind why he was going to do other things, but yes, if that has failed, then you will have a problem.”
“For now the Meilandjes is still working well enough, they will be happy with the viewing figures at Talpa, but for the long -term perspectives of the career of Martien and his family, it is a bit tricky.”
