That Jaarsma was canceled, was already known a few months ago. The clubman boarded last season at the very last moment when it turned out that HCAW could not have found a suitable head coach. He helped his club out of the fire.

Experienced baseball player

The 54-year-old Henson played 660 games in the big league and wore the HCAW shirt for five years. In 1997 he won the national title with Hoofddorp Pioniers. Henson played seven times for the Dutch team. In 2001 he was part of the team that won the European title. As a coach he was previously active at Adolakers, SV Wassenaar and Storks.

Tomorrow Henson makes his debut as head coach in the HCAW practice match against Bonn Capitals. The new baseball season will start in three weeks. The Bussumers open the competition with an away game against Hoofddorp Pioniers.
