HBL: Uwe Gensheimer is missing Rhein-Neckar Löwen for weeks

The Rhein-Neckar Löwen will have to do without Uwe Gensheimer and Halil Jaganjac for the time being. As the handball Bundesliga club announced, both injured themselves in the game at HC Erlangen (33:30).

The most serious injury was sustained by Croatian newcomer Jaganjac, who will be absent at least until the end of the year.

An MRI scan of the left back player’s dislocated throwing shoulder showed that no important structures were torn or broken, the statement said.

The downtime of teammate Gensheimer could be more precisely quantified. The former national team captain and left winger will not be available to the lions for four to six weeks, it said.

He tore a muscle fiber in his left thigh.
