Promotion was already achieved two weeks ago by the victory of FC Volendam at Young AZ. It led to a big party in the fishing village. The title and promotion will be celebrated in a big way on Sunday 11 May (Mother’s Day).
Due to the hard -fought victory over Jong Utrecht, FC Volendam came out on 79 points. That is a club record of most points in one season. Volendam previously became champion in 1958/59, 1960/61, 1966/67, 1969/70, 1986/87 and 2007/08. This Friday, FC Volendam will play against Roda JC in -house.
