Union, SPD and Greens want the Basic Law to be changed in several places in order to be able to invest more money for security, infrastructure and climate protection. In the Bundestag and the Federal Council, two -thirds majorities are necessary. The old Bundestag is scheduled to decide on Tuesday, and the country chamber will follow on Friday. In the new parliament, the Union, the SPD and the Greens are no longer able to state such a majority.
