Has Chris Frantz hinted at a live reunion?

Chris Frantz, the drummer of the disbanded US rock band Talking Heads, posted a photo on Facebook that gives many of the group’s fans hope for a reunion. It features frontman David Byrne with bassist Tina Weymouth. Frantz captioned the photo with “A picture is worth a thousand words.” This makes his followers sit up and take notice: Some comment on the post with the words “Have you thought about getting back together?”

Talking Heads together on stage for “40 years of ‘Stop Making Sense’”

It wasn’t until September 11th that the band appeared together in public again for over 20 years: The reunion was staged to mark the 40th anniversary of the Talking Heads’ concert film, “Stop Making Sense” (1984). Frantz, David Byrne, guitarist Jerry Harrison and Tina Weymouth appeared as guests, not with a live performance.

In the on-site discussion, Weymouth said: “We’re just enjoying the moment. We are so happy that it all led to this wonderful thing that has lasted 40 years. And we don’t really look far into the future. We could be standing on the corner and a bus could hit us. We’re super happy to be alive. The four of us are all here to enjoy this moment.”

Harrison added: “However, there is no question that it rekindles the joy we had together. I think when you watch the film, you can feel the joy of each of us – not just the four of us, but everyone who was on stage and the crew. It certainly tugs at the heartstrings of how much I loved everyone.”
