Adrien Brody won the prize in the best leading actor for his participation in “The Brutalist” at the Oscar Awards on March 2 in Los Angeles. In his acceptance speech, the American actor called his partner Georgina Chapman-the ex-wife of Harvey Weinstein. The sex offender and former film producer now responds from prison.
“Popsy comes home as a winner”
In his speech, Brody thanked his partner, but also with her children. “I know. It was a roller coaster ride, but thank you for taking me in your life, ”he said. And further: “Popsy comes home as a winner!”

The two children, 14 and eleven years old, come from Chapman’s past marriage to Harvey Weinstein. After Weinstein was publicly accused of sexually harassing a large number of women in 2017, Chapman separated from him. Later the two divorced.
Grateful words from prison
Weinstein reported from prison after Brody’s speech and let his spokesman tell: “Harvey is happy for Georgina and is grateful that his children are loved and cared for as they deserve it.”
To the background: The formerly influential film producer in New York was sentenced to a prison sentence of 23 years in New York. This judgment was lifted again in 2024, but the process will be negotiated again in the future. His current detention is based on comparable offenses for which he was convicted in Los Angeles.
According to media reports, Chapman and Brody have been a couple for five years. For the first time together in public, the two only showed themselves at the New Yorker Tribeca Festival in 2021.
