TENNIS – Arianne Hartono was unable to continue her victory over Eugenie Bouchard at the WTA 125 tournament in Vancouver. The 26-year-old Meppelse had to lose in three sets against Emma Navarro in the second round of the Canadian hard court tournament.
Hartono took the first set against Navarro from the United States, but then lost. It was 6-2, 3-6, 2-6.
Hartono had defeated Canadian Bouchard, former number 5 in the world, in two sets in the first round. At the beginning of this year, she reached the main tournament of the Australian Open via the qualifications. The current number 166 in the world did not succeed at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, where she got stuck in the qualifications.
