During the committee meeting of the Emmen city council, strong criticism from Hart van Emmen sounded. Chairman of the party Robart de Jong, according to him, denounced the constant answer to written questions.
“This touches on the core of our controlling task,” said De Jong party leader. “If we are structurally too late or not at all informed, we cannot do our work properly.”
The criticism of Hart voor Emmen received support from various angles. VVD councilor Patrick de Jonge indicated that he recognized the frustration. “We often do not receive feedback on written questions or commitments.” Also not a signal from the officials that the answers come a little later. “If something is diluted, then report it.”
The SP and the PVV also largely joined the worries. D66 also recognized the experience of Hart voor Emmen and came up with the proposal to sit down with the college, the groups and the registry to make workable agreements about deadlines and communication.
Alderman Raymond Wanders indicated that the college is willing to participate in a conversation with the council. “We would like you to be provided with the right information and we do not say ‘no’ to this invitation if it passes,” said the alderman.
Group chairman De Jong (Hart voor Emmen) responded positively to the willingness of the college to start the conversation and the hope that this will lead to improvement.
