Harry Kane has his sights set on the Bundesliga record after a strong start to the season in Munich. However, the road to get there is still long and full of challenges.
After an impressive start to the season at FC Bayern, Harry Kane has already scored 18 goals and is now eyeing Robert Lewandowski’s Bundesliga record: “I think that’s possible, especially with the start I’ve had so far this year,” said the striker on Sky, referring to the 41 goals that the Pole scored in the Munich jersey in the 2020/21 season.
However, Kane emphasized that there is still a long way to go and that he will have to maintain his current performance level for several months. Lewandowski’s record is an incredible record “and it will be difficult to beat, I know that,” said the Englishman.
In addition to his personal ambitions, Kane is also pursuing ambitious goals with the German record champions. The club is currently leading the Bundesliga table and is in second place in the Champions League after six matchdays. The quarter-finals of the DFB Cup against RB Leipzig take place on February 11th. “We have made sure that we go into 2026 with the opportunity to win all three titles. That is the goal as a team, to win everything this season,” said Kane.
Kane himself wants to help with his goals. “It was the best start to the season in my career. So it shows me that I can continue to improve,” explained the 32-year-old. Add to that the World Cup with England in the summer: “It’s obviously a great year and a great opportunity to make history.”
