Former rally driver Harri Rovanperä will be charged with tax fraud in the District Court of Central Finland today, Wednesday. Iltalehti follows the court session starting at 3 pm on the spot.

Rovanperä, who was in a good mood, did not want to comment on the matter before the hearing. The session will probably be over quickly, as only half an hour has been allocated for the discussion.

The criminal case started in October 2025, and the Tax Administration is the interested party. There are no other defendants in the case.

In 2024, Rovanperä had a total of 146,425 euros in taxable income. Tax fraud can be sentenced to fines or up to two years in prison.

Rovanperä, 59, competed in the World Rally Championship between 1993 and 2006. The only World Championship victory of his career came in Sweden in 2001. He climbed the podium a total of 15 times.
