Put it in your calendars for the coming year: The Hanse Song Festival is taking place again. On April 18, 2026 – with a cross-genre music program in various venues in the Hanseatic city. Headliners include Die Höchste Eisenbahn, Wreckless Eric and BC Camplight. Of course MUSIKEXPRESS presents.
The festival offers a mix of established artists and newcomers from various genres of music, from indie and folk to soul and punk to jazz and hip-hop. The organizers are converting several historical and cultural locations in Stade into concert locations for the one-day event.
Six venues in the city center
The Stade city churches, a courtroom in the regional court and the Schwedenspeicher Museum serve as event locations. These are supplemented by the seminar gym, the Königsmarcksaal in the historic town hall and the old slaughterhouse, where music and cultural events already take place regularly.
The acts at a glance
The international acts include British musician Wreckless Eric, who has been known since the 1970s with songs like “Whole Wide World.” Plus: BC Camplight performs solo on piano. The London musician Naima Bock and the Austrian artist OSKA come from the folk-pop sector. The Swiss duo Steiner & Madlaina and Ambre Ciel from Montreal represent the indie folk and chamber pop genres.
From Germany, among others, the Berlin jack-of-all-trades from Die Höchste Eisenbahn, as well as the NDW artist Der Moderne Man and the indie group The League of Ordinary Gentlemen have been announced. The Danish musicians Svaneborg Kardyb contribute instrumental jazz and ambient elements.
The younger artists in the program include Yola, the musician Yunus, who combines rap with viola, and Elias, who mixes hip-hop and R’n’B with indie pop. Ansa Sauermann presents German-language songwriter pop, while the Belgian musician ISE performs with an indie sound. Other acts include Laura Lee & The Jettes, Dennis Kiss, Huah! and the Hamburg Spinners with Erobique.
A special program item is “ Reflexionr Live” with Tocotronic bassist Jan Müller, who has a conversation with musician Julian Knoth. The festival begins with the “Tiny Wolves” choir in front of the historic town hall.

Tickets for the Hanse Song Festival are available for 55 euros plus fees. In addition, a combination ticket for the Hanse Song Festival and the MAMF (also in Stade) is offered for 100 euros.
