Handover blunder – German squadron unsuccessful

4×100 m – the German team falls down the stick, Italy with the fastest time

Germany started with Kevin Kranz handing over to Lucas Ansah-Peprah. The change from him to Joshua Hartmann failed completely, the baton fell to the ground, the German team was eliminated. Yannick Wolf did not get a chance.

The USA with Chris Colema, Fred Kerley, Brandon Carne and JT Smith won the heat in 37.67 seconds ahead of the Jamaican team with Ackeem Blake, Oblique Seville, Ryiem Forde and Rohan Watson in 37.68 seconds. The Italian team delivered the fastest time of the two heats in the other heat: Roberto Rigali, Marcell Jacobs, Lorenzo Patta and Filippo Tortu finished in 37.65 seconds.

Decathlon – Neugebauer after three disciplines in front

Leo Neugebauer started furiously in the decathlon, leading after three disciplines. Despite hip problems, European champion Niklas Kaul is doing well. Defending champion Kevin Mayer gave up.

Neugebauer dominated the field in long jump and shot put, 8.00 m and 17.04 m meant personal bests. With 2,908 points, the 23-year-old is now in the lead.
