Almost three years after the allegations became known, the German Handball Association (DHB) agreed and drove to the Hamm Higher Regional Court in a mediation process. A commission may resume their work on the allegations of abuse of power and emotional violence in unchanged occupation, as the DHB announced.
The DHB granted the edition to complete further training on the subject of communication/motivation/group dynamics as soon as possible. He had to prove this, after which the procedure would be finally terminated according to the coaching regulations against him. Afterwards, nothing stands in the way of continuing the coaching activity.
After the allegations and dismissals of two players from Borussia Dortmund, BVB drove in September 2022. After that, he no longer worked in the youth area of the DHB. According to the common view of the DHB and von drove, there is no criminal behavior.
The “Sport Bild” had said: “There are facts that have not taken place. There are facts that I cannot remember in the form described or have another memory.” He now told the magazine that he considers the agreement found to be “an acceptable result that finally concludes all the procedures and lets me look ahead”. He wanted to continue his work as a handball coach and “will surely benefit from the experiences made, as difficult as they were for me”.
Association leader considers an agreement to be balanced
According to corresponding judgments, the DHB had to end the work of an external commission that dealt with the allegations. You could continue to pursue the order of a final report to the DHB board, it was now said from the association. Fuhr had defended himself against the commission.
“We consider the agreement found to be a balanced result with which we will further develop the prevention of violence of any form in handball on the basis of the work of the Commission,” said DHB President Andreas Michelmann in the message.
