GWD Minden brought into the game by Sebetic and Semisch

The start of the game was not particularly easy for the Mindeners. Göppingen scored the first two goals, but it took a moment for GWD to land on the plate.

Luka Sebetic then got going for GWD and was well staged by his teammates. Although he only hit the post at first, Tim Kneule also missed a chance for Göppingen.

This was followed by two goals from Sebetic, and GWD goalie Malte Semisch saved a seven-metre throw so that the equalizer made it 3:3 in the seventh minute of the game. Only a little later Sebetic even scored to give Minden a two-goal lead.

Göppingen sets itself apart

It was a balanced game with good approaches from both sides. After the half-time break, however, Göppingen was more effective and pulled away to 18:15.

Philipp Ahouanso only hit the crossbar, but Semisch’s save after that didn’t help much to come back quickly. Because Kevin Maageroe Gulliksen converted a Göppingen seven-meter penalty, shortly afterwards it was even 20:16 for the home side.

Hot fight in the final phase

But Minden, led by goalkeeper Semisch, who parried the next seven-metre throw, came back to 20:21 through Darmoul a good quarter of an hour before the end. In the final phase it was a close exchange of blows, also favored by further Semisch parades.

Ahouansou scored twice in a row and made the important 27:24. Göppingen fought Minden for the remaining five minutes, but in the end GWD had the upper hand.
