Halstenberg before returning to the home club

2. Bundesliga instead of the Champions League: National soccer player Marcel Halstenberg is apparently about to switch from RB Leipzig to Hannover 96.

According to a “Bild” report, the 31-year-old defender should be allowed to return to his home club if the Leipzig commitment of French central defender El Chadaille Bitshiabu from Paris Saint-Germain is perfect.

The German cup winner would also let Halstenberg go for a transfer fee well below market value because of his many years of service to the club. According to “Bild” information, the 96ers would only have to pay one to two million euros for the nine-time international.

Halstenberg moves back to Hanover for personal reasons. He was born in the neighboring town of Laatzen and played in the youth department and in the second team of Lower Saxony until 2011. He moved to Leipzig in 2015 via Borussia Dortmund II and FC St. Pauli.
