Guns N ‘Roses found a new drummer with Isaac Carpenter. The 45-year-old musician from the Tri-Cities in Washington replaces Frank Ferrer, who left the band after 19 years.
Isaac Carpenter is no stranger
Already in the high school he played songs by Guns N ‘Roses in a cover band. Carpenter is also no stranger to the skirt scene. He began his career in 1995 as a co-founder of the band Loudermilk, which originally also started as Guns N ‘Roses cover band. The group later turned into Gosling and published their debut album “Here Is …” in 2006.
In the course of his career, Carpenter worked with various well -known artists. Among other things, he played for the exies and was a member of Duff McKagan’s band Loaded. He also toured Adam Lambert and was the drummer of the band Awolnation from 2014.
The connection to Guns N ‘Roses-Bassist Duff McKagan could have played a significant role in Carpenter’s entry-in addition to his great love for the band. The fact that the two already knew each other at the band level and have played with each other should make it easier to integrate the new drummer.
So there was a change of drummer
Frank Ferrer, the previous drummer, left the band in November 2023 after almost two decades. His exit was made by mutual agreement, and the band thanked publicly for his many years of collaboration. On social media it was said:
“Guns n ‘Roses announces the mutually amicable departure of Frank Ferrer, the band’s longest serving.” He was also thanked him for his friendship, his creativity and strong presence in the past 19 years and wishes him every success for the next chapter of his musical journey. Frank joined Gett for the first time during a show in June 2006 and supported the rhythm group during the following tours, including the last tours with the reunited trio Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan. “
Originally, Frank Ferrer was supposed to step in to Guns N ‘Roses in 2006, since the then drummer Bryan Mantia wanted to be with his pregnant wife. However, Ferrer quickly rose to the firm band member.
Guns n ‘Roses: Live appointments planned
With Carpenter on the drums, Guns N ‘Roses is now preparing for her upcoming tour. The band will appear in Europe, Asia and the Middle East in 2025 and stadiums and festivals headlines. The upcoming appearances will show whether and how the change of personnel affects the dynamics and the sound of the band.
